Can't find what you are looking for? Tell our Koh Phangan experts in what you are interested in and we will add it to our Koh Phangan Activities. Experience Koh Phangan's favorite sights as others see them. Let our visual picture tour of Koh Phangan help you choose the best places to visit in Koh Phangan:
Boat TripsMany of the most beautiful beaches and coves on Koh Phangan are only accessible by boat. We highly recommend you start your journey in Thong Sala and take a cruise around the entire island. There are also water-taxis that will take you wherever you want to go for a reasonable fee (if you negotiate ahead of time). Do not skip this or you will be missing out on the best of Koh Phangan. SwimmingThe beaches along Koh Phangan are so beautiful, we have a hard time even thinking about swimming anywhere else. The waters are warm, inviting, and crystal clear almost the entire year. During the low season the water can get a little cloudy and rough-and those are the days when a good pool comes in handy. On those days swim in your hotel pool. Most of them are quite beautiful. On other days, it only makes sense to make use of the crystal clear waters and wonderful underwater sight-seeing opportunities. Speak with your hotel manager about setting up a snorkel adventure if you want to explore the great outdoors in a safe, interesting manner. If your hotel doesn't have a pool, the manager can point you to the nearest public facility. Thai Boxing (Muay Thai)Thai boxing is a huge national pastime. It is the most popular spectator sport in the country, and as well as a popular form of self defense. Thai boxers use their feet, shoulders, legs, and shoulders to subdue their opponents-unlike Western boxing, where only the hands may be used. You can see Thai boxing on the television every day, but if you like the sport (and aren't squeamish), consider going to a live game. There is nothing like seeing the crushing punches, the elbow strikes and precision kicks up close and personal. Bouts are held at Hat Rin stadium. You can catch a fight 2-3 times a week during the high season. You can't miss the advertisements for the next bout, but if you do, ask a local to point you in the right direction. A match will cost you 500 Baht. Health Retreats and Fitness CentresAfter all that drinking and rich food, you may feel the need to work some of those extra calories off. But you don't have to leave your regular workout schedule behind. Several gyms and retreats on Koh Phangan can help you stay in tip-top shape. MassageYou won't have to travel far to find someone who is willing to give you a massage. Thai masseurs and masseuses work on most of the bigger beaches. There is something so relaxing about hearing the hiss and roar of the ocean as experienced hands coax the tension out of every part of your body. For those with more decadent tastes, there are a number of 5 star hotels that have spa facilities on their properties. You don't have to be a guest to book a treatment.
