I would not believe that Phangan Island really offers that much for snorkelling, even if you go on a beach away from Haad Rin. Koh Tao is just a hop away and there is the real diving and snorkelling going on!

It is true that Haad Rin is mainly known for the Full Moon Party; however, the swimming there is great and snorkeling also very nice. However, while the party is ongoing the beach is much too overrun to have a peaceful tropical experience there -- I would go to Haad Thian for that.

I have been snorkeling around Koh Ma and it has really been fantastic!
