Phangan Island was interesting. We resided on a beautiful beach northeast of the island, a typical white sandy beach with swaying palms and leathery tanned bodies.
Our transport of choice was the almighty 100cc scooter. Slowly but surely we made our way up and over gravel roads in the searing humidity down to Haad Rin, the notorious site of the the full moon party.
The Phangan full moon party is basically a congregation of backpackers who get smashed after downing buckets of spirits and red bull, then go on to dance, eventually sleeping it off on the beach.
