Thongsala

While the majority of tourists flock to the city of Thongsala, most of the island's residents live in one of the smaller Koh Phangan villages described below.

Thong Nai Pan and Thong Nai Pan Noi

Thong Nai Pan is a popular beach village in Koh Phangan, and it is located on the wild east coast of Koh Phangan. Steep hills, volcanic mountains and natural falls make up the topography of this Koh Phangan village. While it isn't a very popular tourist destination, it is a popular location for nature enthusiasts looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

Thong Nai Pan Noi is another one of the beach Koh Phangan villages located near the east coast of the island. Thong Nai Pan Noi is a legendary village to many backpackers who take the long trek there. The village retains the atmosphere of times gone past, and when there, you can really experience true island life.

Baan Panburi

Baan Panburi is another of the Koh Phangan villages that is fairly populated. The village is located in the northeast corner of the island, and with its large resorts and clean cut huts for island, backpackers find Baan Panburi to offer more luxury than most home villages. Baan Panburi is known for being clean and for being a rather undiscovered village in Koh Phangan.

Ban Hin Kong

Ban Hin Kong is another of the small Koh Phangan villages where rice fields are worked. Houses are for rent to vacationers in this example of smaller, more personalized Koh Phangan villages. Wok Tum Bay is in one of the Koh Phangan villages located not far from Thongsala, about a five-minute walk. The beaches at Ao Wok Tum are lined with mangrove trees and provide a picturesque landscape for a photo opportunity while witnessing a sunset.
