Staying Safe in Koh Phangan Phangan Island overview

Jump to: Phangan Island overview Galleries - Phangan Island overview Articles

Staying safe in Koh Phangan is not as hard as some people make it out to be. Since the area is well known for its wild, vibrant night time parties, night restaurants and beachside drinks, staying safe in Koh Phangan is often cited as being a difficult task when it really just means taking a few precautions. The Full Moon Party on Haad Rin Beach is the place where much of the danger (but also much of the fun) resides.

The Full Moon Party is full of drugs, but it is also a fairly guarded event by the local police departments. Obviously you will want to keep younger children and teenagers away from the Full Moon Party but if you are interested in attending yourself, staying safe in Koh Phangan should be your first priority. Don't take drinks or food from strangers if you're interested in staying safe in Koh Phangan. The biggest trouble at this party is caused by tampered drinks and food so stay away from this and you should be fine.

Staying safe in Koh Phangan often means just traveling with friends. If you feel in danger, just make sure you always travel in a group, especially at night.

Keeping your valuables locked up in the security box at your hotel (most hotels in Koh Phangan give you a complimentary box in your room) is another way of staying safe in Koh Phangan. If you walk around in diamond jewelry, expensive watches and flip a lot of cash around, your chances of getting hurt increase dramatically. If you simply leave these items back in the room, you will save yourself a lot of heartache and you may help keep your goal of staying safe in Koh Phangan.

Staying safe in Koh Phangan is not difficult if you follow these easy to remember tips and techniques. Koh Phangan is a fun place to visit, but stay safe.
