Diane Branson Yea! We used the night ferry too! It's a great experience, and we met loads of cool people!
We were lucky though, we got to the island about a week before the Full Moon Party so we could get tickets for the next boat leaving Surat Thani no problem.
When you get to a few days before the party EVERY ferry is absolutely packed to capacity (and sometimes maybe a little bit more!). You don't want to be left behind in Surat Thani lol.
